AHIMA: Proposed HIPAA Access Requirement a 'Significant Burden'


AHIMA has stated that the proposed "HIPAA Privacy Rule Accounting of Disclosures under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act", which would force hospitals to let patients know, on request, who has accessed their medical records, would be too costly in both money and time and could create healthcare professional stalkers.
