Dr. Michael Brody

Michael L. Brody, DPM

Michael Brody, DPM, is a practicing podiatrist and a Certified HIPAA Professional. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a recognized expert on Health Information Technology.

Dr Brody founded and was director of the Residency Education Program at DVAMC Northport. He decided to combine his knowledge and experience with Technology and his passion for education and founded CME Online to provide online continuing medical education to medial providers in the comfort and convenience of their homes.

Dr. Brody has spoken both nationally and internationally on issues related to Health Information Technology and the use of Electronic Medical Records. He is the Technical Editor for Podiatry Management Magazine, a Health Information Technology Consultant for PICA and the HIPAA Compliance Officer for a number of organizations. 

Dr. Brody is Co-Chair of the EHR Workgroup at HL7, on the Physicians Committee at HIMSS, has worked with ISO, the Standards and Interoperability Framework, CCHIT, NYeHC and other organizations withing the Health Information Technology ecosystem.

Dr. Allen Jacobs

Allen Jacobs, DPM

Dr. Jacobs is a recognized leader in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle and has published extensively on podiatric medicine.Dr. Jacobs is a 1973 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in surgery at Monsignor Clement Kern Hospital for special surgery in Warren, Michigan in 1975. Dr. Jacobs is in private practice in St. Louis, Missouri. He is board certified in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

For 25 years, Dr. Jacobs served as a Director of Podiatric Surgical Residency Training; and has also served as a contributing editor to the Journal of Foot Surgery, Podiatry Today, Foot and Ankle Quarterly and Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Jacobs has served as the Scientific Chairman of the American Podiatric Medical Association, The Missouri Podiatry Society, and on the Journal Management Committee of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was the first podiatrist to receive the rank of Fellow by Temple University. He was voted a Lifetime Achievement Award and to The Podiatry Hall of Fame. He has received numerous awards from the APMA and ACFAS for his dedication to podiatry and podiatric education, as well as recognition from the governors of Missouri, Arkansas and Massachusetts.

He has published over 80 scientific articles in various publications and 17 chapter contributions in various textbooks, and has presented over 1000 papers at podiatric and medical society meetings. In addition to his practice, Dr. Jacobs maintains a free educational website, www.centerforpodiatriceducation.com, with open access to students, residents and practitioners of podiatric medicine and surgery. He is a nationally recognized author, researcher and a noted authority of surgery of the foot.

Dr. Michael Warshaw

Michael Warshaw, DPM

As a practicing board certified Podiatrist and Certified Professional Coder Dr. Warshaw’s experience is unique and comprehensive with over 25 years of successful coding, management, and training experience for podiatrists.

In addition to serving as a national lecturer concerning appropriate billing, coding, and documentation guidelines Dr. Warshaw has the additional advantage of participating in all facets of the Medicare Appeals Process, including Redeterminations, Reconsiderations, Administrative Law Judge Hearings, as well as the appeals processes of most commercial insurance companies and state Medicaid programs.

Dr. Warshaw has been accredited by the OIG as an Independent Review Organization for Corporate Integrity Agreements and has also served as an expert witness in criminal and civil cases at both federal and state levels.

This rare prospective provides Dr. Warshaw with the ability to provide solutions to insurance and coding problems from 'real world' experience.

Dr. Warshaw is committed to educating and assisting physicians and their staff to appropriately obtain the proper reimbursement, and to avoid the wrath of the insurance carriers by coding, billing, and documenting in an appropriate fashion. 

Dr. David Freedman

Josh White, DPM

Podiatry Specialist in New York, NY, and has over 33 years of experience in the medical field. Graduated from California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1989. 

Dr. White has long combined interests in foot care and shoes. Selected as one of the most influential podiatrists in the US.

He created SafeStep which offered a proprietary, web-based program that streamlined shoe ordering with the guaranteed assurance of Medicare compliance.

Dr. White serves on an American Podiatric Medical Association committee that addresses matters relating to durable medical equipment and is a Codingline Expert Panelist. He is a three-time Ironman triathlon finisher.

Dr. David Freedman

David Freedman, DPM

Dr. David Freedman is currently the Vice-President and a Founding Partner of Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC and has been practicing at the Leisure World location since 1988. Dr. Freedman was recognized by his peers nationally as “VIP DPMs 2017-Movers and Shakers: America’s Most Influential Podiatrist,” he is a past President of the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners, past Chairman, 9th and 10th Annual CAC/PIAC meeting of the American Podiatric Medical Association, a coding committee advisor to the American Podiatric Medical Association, and a CAC Podiatry Representative for Maryland.

Dr. David Freedman is active in the Olney and Rockville communities by supporting various organizations, such as Olney Boys and Girls Club and Rockville Baseball activities. He has 3 grown children (Bonnie, Dan and Molly), a son in law (Mark), and 2 grandchildren (Sophie and Madden)! He loves to read in his spare time, exercise regularly especially running daily and play golf.

Luke Cicchinelli, DPM

Dr. Cicchinelli is the Chief Medical Director for PICA. He is s graduate of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. He is a faculty member of the Podiatry Institute in Atlanta, GA. He practiced for 19 years in the USA between North Carolina and Arizona and over 10 years between Australia and Spain, focusing primarily on reconstructive surgery and sports medicine of the foot and ankle and teaching.

Manny Haber, DPM

Dr. Haber is a Board-Certified Podiatric Surgeon and Director of the Foot & Ankle Center of New Jersey. He has been in private practice since 1985. Dr. Haber is on staff at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He is also a principal partner in a group that provides podiatric care to several nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and rehabilitation centers. Dr. Haber is a frequent lecturer and has published articles on tendon and ligament prostheses and heel spur syndrome in Clinics in Podiatry and other professional publications.

Andrew Shapiro, DPM

Dr. Shapiro practices at Valley Stream Podiatry in Valley Stream, New York. He graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1986. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and The American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He is Past President of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Shapiro is active in teaching podiatry residents.

Dr. Nicholas practices at the Orthopedic Center of Florida in Fort Myers, Florida. She has over 20 years’ experience in patient care specializing in diabetic foot care, nail conditions, neuropathy, fall prevention, and wound care. Dr. Nicholas is an adjunct clinician at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, Past President of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, and current Arbitrator for the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board. Dr. Nicholas is President and Founder of Kindest Foundation, a non-profit organization with a school and medical clinic in rural Haiti.
