This webinar provides an overview of clinical treatment, documentation, and ethical billing practices in primary care podiatry. Led by Dr. Jacobs and Dr. Warshaw, the session will discuss strategies to reduce the incidence of ulceration and amputation while improving patient quality of life and getting paid for the services you provide.
The webinar will cover how to recognize risk factors, educate patients, manage modifiable risks, and monitor patients to help prevent complications. Emphasis will also be placed on proper documentation to support clinical care and compliant billing.
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize clinical risk factors for lower extremity ulceration and amputation in primary care podiatric practice.
2. Perform risk stratification and implement evidence-based preventive strategies to reduce ulcer development in high-risk patients.

4. Apply appropriate surveillance and follow-up protocols for patients at increased risk of ulceration or limb loss.
5. Document clinical findings, medical necessity, and treatment plans in accordance with accepted standards to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
6. Integrate ethical billing principles with compliant documentation practices to support appropriate reimbursement and reduce audit risk.
