Dr. Lambert earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, followed by a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose and Stanford University. She began her career at Stanford HealthCare, where she was honored with numerous teaching awards and the Alvin C. Rambar Award for Excellence in Patient Care. Dr. Lambert subsequently transitioned to private practice while maintaining a strong commitment to academic medicine through her ongoing involvement as a volunteer faculty member at Stanford until 2017. She has published numerous abstracts, articles and book chapters. Dr. Lambert also has expertise in sports medicine and served as team physician for Stanford University athletics from 1992-2012, providing comprehensive care to student-athletes and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary sports medicine teams. Dr. Lambert has consulted with a wide range of professional and Olympic athletes. From 1996 to 1998, she was the team physician for the San Jose Lasers of the professional women’s American Basketball League. Since retiring from patient care in 2024, she is now focused on consulting, teaching and mentoring while working with multiple pharmaceutical companies on a national level.
